Fear vs Love – Video of the Week

The human brain is capable of expressing only two fundamental emotions: love and fear. All other emotions stem from these two. As Christians, we are called to live in love. However, it is easy to fall into a pattern of living in fear. Fear can take many forms, such as the fear of the unknown, fear of pain, fear of death, and fear of making difficult choices. When we live in fear, it can weaken and disable us. On the other hand, love empowers and strengthens us. It brings excitement, generosity, trust, and courage.

The Bible tells us that “perfect love casts out all fear.” This means that when we fully embrace love, there is no room for fear. Instead of reacting to fear, we can act against it. God tells us not to fear, because he is with us and will strengthen, help, and uphold us. Often, our fears can be irrational, like believing in the boogeyman. The devil can cause us to become fearful, but God is bigger and more powerful. By giving up our fears to God, we can live a full and loving life that he has prepared for us.

Ultimately, the decision is ours to make: will we choose fear or love? Will we allow fear to weaken and disable us, or will we embrace love and allow it to empower and strengthen us?
