Featured App – Faith Fit
Now for the first time, an app is available to help you become physically and spiritually fit by promoting the health of the whole person: body, mind, and soul.
“Holiness is about being wholly integrated; body, mind, and soul” said Bishop John Noonan. “Faith Fit is unique in its approach of caring for the whole person.”
Faith Fit offers prayer podcasts, health tips and catechetical information about the human person, the value of human life and the wholeness of each person that God intends for humankind. There is also a “daily inspirational message” each day for individuals to reflect upon and take action on. The daily inspirational message is connected to the liturgical calendar of the Church. So each day, app users can stay centered on the life of Christ and the saints and solemnities that recall Christ’s saving mystery. There is also the ability to track activity and weight goals to help motivate you to set and keep your goals.
Bishop Noonan will also be able to send notifications or news alerts to anyone who downloads the app. This will help keep the shepherd of the diocese better connected with his flock.
Faith Fit is a collaborative effort between several Diocese of Orlando offices, including Communications, Liturgy, Information Technology, Human Resources, Vocations, and Advocacy and Justice. With a grant from Aetna, the diocesan insurance provider, these offices have been working together to develop an app and a website (www.befaithfit.org) that focuses on the Catholic teachings on the human person and the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
