Reaching Out to Disengaged Youth – Video of the Week

Maria Mitchell interviews Paul J. Kim, a youth minister and speaker, about his background and approach to ministry. Kim explains that he first discovered his love for public speaking when he was a class clown in school. He later had a reawakening of his Catholic faith in college, which led him to pursue a career in youth ministry.

In his ministry, Kim’s favorite aspect is speaking to kids who don’t care about the church. He believes that it is important to reach out to these young people and make the gospel message relevant to them in today’s culture. To do this, he uses music and humor to engage young people in the church. He believes that these universal elements are effective in reaching people’s hearts and minds.

Kim also discusses the importance of engaging with culture in order to spread the gospel message. He cites St. John Paul II’s belief that if the church fails to engage with culture, the gospel remains silent. Kim believes that it is important for the church to adapt its methods and approach in order to effectively reach people in today’s society.
